Welcome to the Supervised Visitation Network!

SVN International Conference "Safety with Compassion"
October 18-19, 2023

The 2023 SVN International Conference "Safety with Compassion" will focus on two critical components of our work. How do we keep our families safe when they come to us with such a wide variety of presenting issues? The answer is multifaceted, but always boils down to compassion. Compassion for their experiences, compassion for their circumstances, compassion for their future. In order to meet the expansive needs, and provide safety, we must take time to truly understand their journey into services. In this conference, we are taking a hands-on approach to learning how to keep ourselves and our families safe with a focus on the drug epidemic and safety in the digital world. We will continue our hands-on approach while discussing harm reduction, hosting a panel discussion that will help us not only learn but apply the knowledge in real-life scenarios. We will examine the First Nation's concept of Lateral Kindness, where we will explore the teachings about respect, fairness, and the importance of relationships to create an environment built on a foundation of kindness. This conference will help us not only expand our understanding but help increase our compassion for the lived experiences of those we serve.

The Supervised Visitation Network is an international membership network that establishes standards, promotes education and advances professionalism in the field of supervised visitation.

We are an international non-profit membership organization that is a network of agencies and individuals who are passionate about ensuring that children can have safe, conflict-free access to parents and caregivers with whom they do not reside. Children who need these essential services may live with a parent who is in conflict with the other, in foster care or with a relative.
