Our Vision: The Supervised Visitation Network champions a world where all children have safe access to their families.


Our Mission: We are a global association of professionals that establishes standards of practice, provides educational opportunities, advocates for access to services and collaborates with stakeholders to maintain family connections.


We do this by:

  • Educating providers, users of services and the public
  • Advocating for accessibility and increased awareness of the importance of well trained providers
  • Promoting collaboration among providers and with related communities, including judicial and social services and sources of support and funding

  • Advanced Professionalism

    Goals


    Increased engagement and attendance of the membership, at conference and trainings. Identify options for members to achieve professional credentialing options such as certification and/or accreditation 


    Desired Achievement


    SVN will provide, expand and explore innovative training, education, and credentialing opportunities


    SVN will plan to build new leaders among members for task forces, committees, trainings, elected and appointed board members


    Strategies 

    • Develop marketing efforts to promote awareness of trainings, conferences, and tools available for professional advancement 
    • Creating a mentoring program for new and emerging agencies, programs, and individual provider
    • Develop and expand credentialing programs to build expertise and educate stakeholders

    Met with SVN Members to discuss Credentialing/Future options for SVN via the Blueprint Meetings held in Seattle (2021), Cambridge, MA (2021), New Orleans (2022), and Niagara Falls, ON (2022)


    Hosted first Live Hybrid Annual Conference, engaging over 350 attendees (Orlando 2022)


    Hosted first Hybrid 24 Hour Certificate Training (San Diego 2023)


    Developed new “bench Card” to increase awareness of the security risks of custody exchanges at Police Stations


    Hosting the SVN International Conference again in Niagara Falls, Ontario, October 2024


    The first ever SVN “Child Welfare Summit” was held in August/2024


    Supportive Supervised Visitation Certificate Training Added May 2024

    Educating and advocating the importance of qualified SV providers to courts, communities, and legislators, legal aid, and CPS


    Goals:


    Decision Makers and referral sources will use properly trained providers that follow ethical and well-defined standards of practice


    Supervised Visitation Network is invited to present at training conferences for judges, GAL's, Social Service Agencies


    Local and national decision makers attend, participate and present in SVN sponsored trainings, meetings and conferences


    Build collaborations with communities, stakeholders, and decision makers to increase effective partnerships

    Develop relationships with local judges, lawyers, key decision makers


    Develop relationships with local education institutions to support potential research


    Increase visibility in media, professional journals, with legislatures and judiciaries

    Hired new full-time staff member as Membership and Community Outreach Coordinator March, 2023


    Exhibited at End Violence Against Women International (2000 Attendees) in Chicago, April of 2023


    Presented to the Australian Children’s Contact Association (ACCSA) at their  Annual Conference March 2023


    Exhibited at Association of Family and Conciliation Courts Annual Conference (AFCC), June 2023 


    Exhibited at National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges (NCJFCJ) , July 2023


    ED Joe Nullet is presented a virtual lecture to a group of university professors (psychology, family law, family sociology so on), lawyers, providers of visitation centers and grad students from Japan. They want to learn more about how visitation is provided in the US for cases of high conflict parents and the child refusal, and about the training SVN offers to the providers.   October 2023


    Provided 3 Hour training to a group of 140 Professionals in Puerto Rico on SV and Gender Based Violence August 2024


    Presented at the National Training Institute, Center for Victims of Crime September, Portland  2024

    Goals


    SVN will improve organizational and financial stability. We will do this through the expansion of training options and products, credentialing, conference growth, increased volunteer engagement, enhanced diversity and inclusion, while exploring new funding sources


     

    Desired Achievement


    Financial Stability will have improved substantially due to exploring new funding sources, and increasing training, credentialing, conference and product revenue which will allow SVN to fund initiatives identified in this strategic plan


    The annually updated Board Procedural manual will enable effective recruiting and onboarding of Board members, that improves the stability of the organization.


    Enhanced commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion will increase the organizational reach and potential for growth


    Strategies 


    SVN Board and Staff will engage in ongoing efforts to make sure all conferences, trainings, and products are diverse, equitable, inclusive, and accessible


    Dedicate increased staff time to education and outreach to potential new members (e.g. private providers) and collaborative professionals (legal, social service, legislative)


    Create more inclusive opportunities for members to participate in focus groups, task forces, and committees

    Board procedural manual updates are ongoing


    Board, Staff, and SVN Members attended a 2-day Diversity workshop facilitated by “Human in Common” (2021)


    Board is currently engaged with a professional DEIA consultant, exploring the board role in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion at the Board, staff, and membership levels.


    Supportive Supervised Visitation Training in online and live formats was finalized and introduced in 2024


    Preliminary work on a Therapeutic Supervised Visitation Certificate Training curriculum to begin late 2024.


    SVN Visit Manager Pro updated with enhance reporting features October 2024


    8 Hour Supervised Exchange Training in online and live formats to be finalized and introduced in 2025


    New SVN Growth and Development Committee was formed October 2024
