The Supervised Visitation Network (SVN) is now accepting proposals for the Child Welfare Summit, scheduled for August 19-20, 2025, in Kansas City, MO. This year’s Institute will focus on the role of supervised visitation within the child welfare system, addressing the distinct challenges professionals face when working with families involved in these cases, rather than those in family law.
The Program Committee is seeking proposals that offer: Actionable insights: Presentations should include practical takeaways that attendees can implement in their programs immediately. Innovative approaches:Service models and best practices that address the complexities of child welfare-related supervised visitation. Inclusive strategies: Effective methods for working with diverse and high-risk populations. Research-based solutions: Approaches grounded in research that strengthen family connections during supervised visits.
Who Should Apply: We welcome proposals from a broad range of professionals, including: -Supervised visitation and child access providers -Judges, attorneys, and mediators -Researchers and academics -Licensed clinicians and mental health practitioners -Domestic violence and child welfare experts -Parent educators and social service organizations -Other interdisciplinary professionals with expertise in supervised visitation
Important: Attendees prefer sessions that are practical and skills-based rather than general program success stories.
