Rules don’t create safety—relationships do.

Our approach matters as much as our intent.

Supporting a child means supporting the relationship around them.

Strengthening attachment is violence prevention.

Children don’t need perfect parents. They need supported ones.

SVN Supportive Supervised Visitation Certificate

Move beyond observation. Make every visit matter.

The SVN Supportive Supervised Visitation Certificate is a dynamic, on-demand training created to meet the 2023 revised requirements of SVN Standard 12.6—and to empower professionals to engage families in more meaningful, purposeful ways during supervised visits.

Supportive Supervised Visitation goes beyond the traditional “fly-on-the-wall” model. It is a structured, safety-focused approach to supervised parent-child contact that allows for intentional, neutral, and active interventions that support connection, consistency, and relationship-building—without crossing into therapy or compromising neutrality.

Designed for Real-World Practice

This training is ideal for professionals who want to elevate their supervised visitation practice—supporting families more effectively while remaining fully aligned with SVN standards.

  • Certificate vs Certification? What's the difference?

Certificate Training is a structured learning program designed to achieve specific learning outcomes and includes assessments to measure participant achievement. Unlike trainings that only provide certificates of attendance, this program evaluates learning through formal assessment.

Participation is optional, and SVN members may meet the Supportive Supervised Visitation Training requirement through other approved means.

This program was developed in response to a 3-year environmental survey, which revealed that nearly half of members lacked access to adequate training opportunities.

The certificate program supports providers seeking to meet SVN requirements or obtain formal recognition of completed training. While aligned with SVN standards, it may also meet certain state or governmental requirements; participants should verify applicability within their jurisdiction.
