SVN Faculty– Job Description

 

POSITION TITLE:                                                   SVN Faculty

WORK EXPERIENCE/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Prospective trainers must have experience providing interactive and engaging virtual training and will be expected to either have already completed the Certificate Trainings; or once accepted, participate in a Certificate Training that will serve as training for the trainer.   

JOB SUMMARY: The SVN Faculty is a paid, part-time position that will serve as trainer to the SVN certificate programs and additional trainings as they are developed. This position is based on the needs of the Supervised Visitation Network Community and may include 1-2 virtual trainings per month. Some travel may be required. 

PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES:

• Assist the Director of Training & Development in the instruction of SVN trainings  

•Administrative duties as necessary to the training program of SVN 

• Support SVN Annual Conference, as needed. 
• Other duties as necessary to contribute to the overall success of SVN’s Training Program.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & TECHNOLOGY:

Minimum Qualifications

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Evidence of rapport-building skills; must be “good with people”
Demonstrated knowledge of supervised visitation and the SVN Standards

Excellent technology skills and ability to learn new and utilize new technology with ease

Must have reliable, high-speed internet and a computer/lap top with microphone/speaker/headset

Must have quiet, dedicated location for virtual training courses  

Preferred Qualifications:

SVN Member in good standing 

Has presented at an SVN Annual Conference

Undergraduate or Graduate degree(s) in like fields (social work, psychology, criminal justice, etc) 

Previous adult education/teaching experience 

Familiar with adult learning styles 

ABILITIES: 

Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and students, as well as people from culturally diverse backgrounds. Ability to travel as some travel may be required. Ability to facilitate regional, virtual, and national training events in multiple modalities (in person and virtually), Ability to follow curriculum-based education.  

 WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position will be located remotely and will require occasional travel. Hours for trainings are typically held in the Eastern Time Zone and may cause trainer to work slightly outside typically business hours based on their local time zone.
