Call for Proposals Now Open
The Supervised Visitation Network (SVN) invites professionals from across disciplines to submit proposals for workshops at the 2026 SVN International Conference. This hybrid event will bring together practitioners, researchers, and systems partners to explore innovative, practical, and inclusive strategies to support families engaged in supervised parenting time.
The Program Committee is Seeking Proposals That Offer:
Actionable Insights: Workshops that provide tangible tools, frameworks, and skills participants can implement in their work immediately.
Innovative Approaches: Creative models and promising practices in supervised visitation, particularly those that integrate interdisciplinary or culturally grounded strategies.
Inclusive Strategies: Equity-focused workshops that address the needs of marginalized or high-risk populations including racialized families, LGBTQ+ parents/youth, and those impacted by systemic barriers.
Research-Based Solutions: Sessions grounded in current research or evaluation, including evidence-informed risk assessment and safety planning tools.
Topics of Interest Include (But Are Not Limited To):
• Restorative Justice Approaches in Parenting Time
• Creating land acknowledgements & working beyond them
• Gender-Responsive Programming (Supportive Mothering Programs & Men’s Programs (e.g., PAR)
• Child-Centered Programming (e.g., KATCH)
• The Role of the Office of the Children’s Lawyer
• Use of Risk Assessment Tools (e.g., Be Safer Tool)
• Supporting Clients with Complex Needs (Mental Health, Addictions, etc.)
• Navigating Family Law: Perspectives from Judges, Lawyers, and Advocates
• Intersections of Gender Based Violence, Child Welfare, and Supervised Visitation
Note: Attendees favour sessions that are interactive and skills-based, providing concrete tools rather than general program overviews or success stories.
If your proposal is selected you will receive one complimentary night at the Brock Hotel- Niagara Falls, Ontario for up to two presenters

The 2026 SVN Annual Conference will be a Hybrid event. All conference workshop sessions will need to be 90 minutes, inclusive of a question-and-answer time.
All presenters must use the electronic form to be considered; no written, faxed, or carrier pigeon submissions will be accepted.
