Although exchanges may last only a few minutes, they often occur during some of the most emotionally charged moments a family experiences.
The Foundations of Supervised Exchange Services Credential Course is designed to meet the applicable SVN Standards for supervised exchange services. Course content reflects the professional knowledge, safety considerations, ethical practices, and service delivery principles established by SVN to support high-quality, child-centered supervised exchange services. Grounded in the SVN Standards, this comprehensive training combines evidence-informed practices with real-world application to prepare providers for the complex situations they may encounter in exchange services. Through engaging instruction, interactive activities, and realistic scenarios participants will learn how to create safe, predictable, and child-centered exchanges while maintaining neutrality, professionalism, and ethical practice.
An on-demand, asynchronous training is a flexible, self-paced learning experience that participants can access anytime. There are no scheduled sessions or live attendance requirements—learners move through the material on their own timeline using pre-recorded content, activities, and resources. This format allows individuals to engage with the training when it works best for them and revisit content as needed.

Course registration is for one participant only, and login credentials may not be shared. To protect the integrity of the credential, allowing another individual to access or complete any portion of the course may result in the participant becoming ineligible to earn the credential.

Certificate vs Certification? What's the difference?
Certificate Training is a structured learning program designed to achieve specific learning outcomes and includes assessments to measure participant achievement. Unlike trainings that only provide certificates of attendance, this program evaluates learning through formal assessment.
Participation is optional, and SVN members may meet the Supervised Exchange Training requirement through other approved means.
The certificate program supports providers seeking to meet SVN requirements or obtain formal recognition of completed training. While aligned with SVN standards, it may also meet certain state or governmental requirements; participants should verify applicability within their jurisdiction.
