Step beyond the French Quarter and explore a lesser-seen side of New Orleans during this unique evening excursion.
The Eerie Nights Shuttle Tour takes participants to several historic cemeteries located on the edge of the city—sites rich with history, folklore, and local legend. While many ghost tours remain within the French Quarter, this guided experience travels beyond the typical routes to visit locations that few visitors have the opportunity to see.
Attendees will depart from the Intercontinental Hotel with the SVN team and climb aboard a climate-controlled shuttle and journey to these historic burial grounds while learning about the stories, traditions, and mysteries that surround them. Once you arrive, you're on foot. Your guide leads you through two or three above-ground cemeteries, flashlight sweeping across weathered stone as they share the stories of who's buried there and why some of them haven't stayed buried. You'll learn why New Orleans buries its dead above ground and what happens when the tombs are opened.
Midway through, you'll stop* at a local beignet spot for a break (and a drink if you want one) *food and drink not included.
While you'll travel to/from the cemeteries in a climate-controlled shuttle, much of the tour is on foot. Once you arrive at the cemeteries, your guide leads you through on a walking tour through 2-3 cemeteries on uneven ground (grass, gravel).
